My niece (oldest of the crew) has just announced her engagement to her gf of several years. I will not be at all surprised if some of the other nieces/nephews follow suit soonish. (they are still babies how is this happening)

I wonder if any of them will ask me for wedding planning advice -- certainly they aren't going to be needing any "placating traditional mother of bride wishes" on my side of the family. :)
