I guess this is a reason to be glad I'm changing my name. Maybe?

The bloggess posted today about Googlism, whose existence I was previously unaware of, which purports to find "will find out what Google.com thinks of you, your friends or anything!"

So, what I found that is there are mulitiple other Jane Pattersons who do way cooler stuff than me that google thinks of first. Which I already knew some of -- it's a hella common name, but even back in the earlier, less populous, days of the internet I found one who was a translator at the UN -- but I also used to come up in searches like this. Once, I was written up in books (well, two) on the amazing new phenomenon that was the world wide web!

Ah, the net.goddess days of, um, 1994?  Er, yeah.


Oh, and I threw in "jeliza" just to see, expecting mostly results about the Terry Gilliam character, and it returns only 4 lines:

jeliza is a program with which you can make conversation
jeliza is used to her parents being unconscious for long periods of time
jeliza is on scamp
jeliza is essential


Essential is good.

I've dabbled with changing my middle name. No clue what. (And it's kind of a pain in the ass to change a name, especially one you don't use.)
