I'm part of the "ask a woman with bipolar" q&a over on the Fementalists today (and there is a part two coming)

The decision to do it with my name attached is something I'm still only 90% sure of, but ain't no turning back now.

And I totally have the icon for it, courtesy Criminal Minds and matociquala Whee!

I've decided that having a treated (or perpetually being treated) mental illness is "cool" (because I have one and what I do is cool). So screw 'em if they don't agree with me :)

Ok - I just read it and that was really interesting! The questions and answers were very interesting and helpful near the end with questions such as what to do for someone in a manic state. I lost a good friend with bipolar because I suggested she get help while in a manic state that had me worried and she lashed out at me from her state of paranoia and that was the end of that. I've always wondered if I should've done something different. For years she was off her medication so I'm not sure whatever happened to her but I've always wondered if I failed her by that first initial suggestion.

Also, I laughed out loud when one of the respondents said "I almost said "normal" depression"!

All very interesting and it was brave of you to use your real name and I bet that will end up being really helpful to people who read it!
