Predator Alert Tools now exist for OkCupid, Fetlife, Facebook, ChristianMingle, Twitter, Lulu and Bang with Friends

Each tool works a little differently, depending on the site. You can to all of them from the "Predator Alert Tools" menu on her site, and the list is growing.  This is one of those things that work better the more people use them, as well.

Some also do cross-reference with sex offender registries, and all also have a user-submitted warnings function -- basically, a way to make the background whispering about Missing Stairs a lot more visible.

*sigh*

I may need to turn off LJ's birthday notifications, or finally go through and "unfriend" the accounts of friends who have passed on, because there have been a number of unwelcome reminders recently I wasn't really prepared for.

I know it's stupid, but I really just don't want to unfriend them.
