I reread possibly excessively. I have comfort books, and heck, comfort series. I have read, and reread, the entirety of
- Lois McMaster Bujold's Vorkosigan books, but Memory and A Civil Campaign more often than the others
- the Arcane Society series that Jayne Ann Krentz writes that span her three psuedonyms (the Regency/Victorian's are by "Amanda Quick" and the far future on a different planet are by "Jayne Castle", which I am still kind of shocked they let her do; there are multiple trilogies where book 1 is modern era, book 2 is regency, and book 3 is far future). She is the most utterly dependable romance author on the planet, I think. Formula romance shouldn't really be this rereadable, and yet...
- Ursula Le Guin's Earthsea books, though I don't do it as a comfort read, because there is still plenty to challenge my internal states (which is good, except when it isn't.)
- Henry Mitchell On Gardening, though it was my Dad's copy and I need to get my own.
- Al Sicherman's Caramel Knowledge. A cookbook, when I really avoid cooking as much as possible, but it's funny. I suspect this was my mental replacement for Peg Bracken's I Hate to Cook Book, which I loved as a kid, and had great illustrations. I do not understand why I love cookbooks and hate cooking, but oh well.
