jelizaMy father, who some of you knew, passed away Monday after a long illness. He passed quietly, in his sleep, with all his children gathered around him. We sang Red River Valley to him as his breathing slowed (he very much had the song's "bright eyes and sweet smile") and it was very peaceful.
I don't know yet when the service will be.
I am sad, obviously, but it's been a slow decline and I had a chance to say goodbye earlier this year, not like the shock of Mom's sudden death, so I'm doing OK at the moment and I think it's not going to be debilitating.
