A good friend of our family died suddenly this week, and we almost didn't know, because everything happens on facebook now, and R and I mostly stay off fb because it's a trash fire, and also because even for S who is still on facebook, their algorithm decides what to show you in a way that means posts from old friends that don't post a lot frequently just don't get shown.

I hate fb so much.

I'm not sure? I actually don't remember what community we met through, and I haven't really been social in any of my meatspace communities in years. Holly, for a long time of the couple Holly and Denise, but I am blanking on her last name? She was my age.

We apparently knew them from the poly community, I asked R and she didn't think you probably knew her. (There are several Hollys in their 40s in our interlocking social circles; this Holly was not a Seattle person.)
