Election night sucks.
Nov. 6th, 2018 10:09 pmI'm glad the election is over, even if it will take time to get the full results. I just got so anxious and twitchy, especially when I made the mistake of looking at the news, that I couldn't think. My usual water-walking buddy couldn't make it tonight, but I made myself go anyway, and went longer and a lot harder than I usually do, so I am almost back to calm.
I remember being told that it was against the law for the media to call a race before people had finished voting, but apparently it isn't, so that was just awesome, I'm sure none of the people who had been waiting in line for hours to vote felt like their vote didn't matter at that point. (And initially calling Texas before Houston or Austin was even counted? That's shady AF, and that was a really close race, too.)
I want the whole country to go to vote by mail. The media will hate it, because there is so much less spectacle, and returns don't come as fast, but it's just so much more secure and efficient and harder to suppress.... and I need to stop because I'm starting to to tense again, and I don't want to undo all my power stomping through the river.
